Macy Egerman had two goals and an assist in C of I win
CALDWELL, Idaho - Macy Egerman scored a pair of goals midway through the first half, as The College of Idaho dominated play in a 5-0 victory over the University of Great Falls this afternoon at Simplot Stadium.
After multiple scoring chances in the first 20 minutes, the Coyotes (2-0) got on the board in the 28th minute as Egerman took a cross in the box, and after a UGF defender blocked the first attempt, flicked home the rebound with the left foot. Seven minutes later, she struck again, as Megan Walburn made a save of a shot attempt, but Egerman tapped it into the goal for a 2-0 lead.
The Yotes would push the margin to 3-0 just before the break, as Kelly Hardegree-Ullman headed home a corner to the far post from Erika Mouritsen, as The C of I held a 18-0 shot edge in the period over the Argos (0-3).
In the second half, the Lady Yotes added a pair of tallies in the final 15 minutes, as Natasha Rooney scored her first collegiate goal on a nice cross by Jamie Reichel in the 76th minute, while Jessica Ayala capped the scoring in the 83rd minute on a combination off a free kick from Kayla Bigelow and Egerman.
Melissa Holmes picked up her second shutout of the season, facing just two shots on the day and making just one save. The C of I held a 29-2 edge in shots, 11-1 in shots on goal, and a 10-2 edge in corner kicks.
The Lady Yotes return to action next weekend - traveling to California for matches at Cal Baptist and Biola.
