Raiders Make Quick Work Of Red Hawks
ASHLAND, ORE. -- The Southern Oregon men shot 54 percent from the field for the game and scored an easy 85-51 non-conference victory over Simpson tonight at McNeal Pavilion.
Southern Oregon improved to 10-6 on the season will host Evergreen State Friday night in Cascade Conference matchup at 5:30. Simpson dropped to 1-16 on the season.
Jordan Highland led the Raiders with 15 points and nine rebounds. Austin Wolfer had 13 points and Kellen Hawley finished with 10 points and seven rebounds.
Pat Mango led Simpson with 18 points.
Sam Osofsky came off the bench to give the Raiders some breathing room early on, hitting on a pair of 3-pointers for a 21-11 SOU advantage with 10:20 remaining in the first half. A 3-pointer by Trevor McCay pushed the lead to 35-21 and the Raiders cruised to a 40-27 advantage at halftime thanks to shooting 53.6 percent.
SOU started the second half on fire and had the lead up to 34 at 70-36 on a jumper by Scott Tiefenthaler.
The Raiders held Simpson to 27 percent shooting in the second half.
