Oregon Tech Reaches Century Mark in Rout of Geoducks
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – In a sea-of-pink, No. 13 Oregon Tech ripped The Evergreen State College using a 15-3 opening game run to move on for a 101-63 win in the 2nd annual “Pink Out” game held tonight at Danny Miles Court.
Tonight’s “Pink Out” event, a tribute to late Oregon Tech president Martha Ann Dow, and all those affected by the disease, both the men and women team’s donned pink uniforms to help support cancer awareness.
Oregon Tech sits at 17-2 overall and 8-0 in the conference standings. Evergreen drops to 5-12 on the year and 2-5 in the CCC.
It was another record night in Klamath Falls - The Hustlin’ Owls ran their school-record home win streak to 48-straight, Head Coach Dan Miles tied Don Meyer for 2nd on the all-time men’s basketball wins list (923) and senior Joseph Foster joined the Oregon Tech 1,000 point club. Last year’s “Pink Out” game saw Miles hit yet another milestone - Winning his 900th game of his illustrious career.
Scotty Riddle provided the spark for the Owls after connecting on 9-of-11 from the field to net a game-high 21 points. Joseph Foster, now at 1,011 career points, and Kyle Gomez added 16 points each and combined for 10 rebounds. Bryant Sentman and Nathan Maddox finished with 10 points apiece, in a game where five Owls finished in double-figures and every Hustlin’ Owl scored.
Mikey Hope led TESC with 16 points, while Tyrell Dixon finished with 12 points and Josh Troyer 11.
Oregon Tech finishes up the first round of Cascade Conference play this Saturday with a home game against rival Southern Oregon University.
