ASHLAND, Ore. – Southern Oregon scored three first-half goals and added one more in the second period as the Raiders shut out Warner Pacific 4-0 in a Cascade Collegiate Conference women’s soccer match Saturday afternoon at University Field.

With the win, SOU improves to 4-4-1 overall this season and 1-0 in the CCC. Warner Pacific falls to 1-1-1 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

Stephanie Carr opened the scoring for SOU with her sixth goal of the year, knocking it in from five yards out to the left side of the goal following a corner kick in the 15th minute. Chenin Young made it 2-0 Raiders in the 36th minute, taking Sara Dutra’s corner kick from 15 yards out and kicking it over the head of Warner Pacific goalkeeper Nikita Rivera.

Less than one minute before halftime, Alexis Mahoney took a pass from Sydney Paulson on the left side of the goal and scored from five yards out after Rivera had been drawn out of the goal. Following halftime, Serena DeChristofaro headed Sara Dutra’s corner kick into the left side of the goal from about five yards out to make it a 4-0 contest in the 77th minute.

The Raiders outshot the Knights 25-3 in the contest, and SOU held an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks.
