LA GRANDE, Ore. -- The Eastern Oregon University women's soccer team picked up its first point in conference play this season with a tie with Northwest University, 1-1.

Northwest scored early as Acacia Johnson scored just 7 minutes and 15 seconds into the game as she took a pass from teammate Shea Samuelsen for the score.

NU would hold the lead until the 85th minute when Mauriana Gonzalez scored the game tying goal off an assist by Lexi Olivo.

Neither team could find the game winner in the overtimes periods although Northwest outshot EOU 5-1 in the extra periods.

Jordan Holmes had two saves in goal for the Eagles while her counterpart, Chantal Scheffers recorded 6 saves for the Mounties in goal. NU held the shot advantage, 19-11, with Acacia Johnson taking 6 of the shots, 4 shots on goal.

The Mountaineers host Evergreen State Monday at 2 p.m. on the EOU Soccer Field. Live stats will be available on EOUSports.com. Northwest heads to Caldwell, Idaho to play The College of Idaho Monday.
