FINAL RESULTS

SALEM, Ore. – Concordia's men's golf team overcame a five-stroke deficit in the final round to take home the team title, while the Cavaliers' Jesse Heinly also came from behind to earn medalist honors Tuesday at the Corban Invitational played at Creekside Golf Club.

Tournament-host Corban held the overnight lead, but a solid final round combined team score of 24-over 312 by Concordia vaulted the Cavaliers to the title. Concordia (311-311-312=934) finished a mere four strokes ahead of Corban (314-303-321=938), while The College of Idaho (334-311-316=961), Warner Pacific (323-320-322=965), and Northwest Christian (327-329-343=999) rounded out the teams that competed in the final Cascade Collegiate Conference tournament of the fall season.

Individually, Concordia's Heinly and Jed Dalton finished 1-2 following a final round 1-over 73 by Heinly that bettered Dalton's third round score of 5-over 77 to win by three strokes. Heinly (77-70-73=220) took home medalist honors thanks in part to a tournament-low 2-under par 70 in Round #2, while Dalton (73-73-77=223) finished nine strokes ahead of Corban's Joey Duwe (76-75-78=229) in third place. The final two individuals in the Top 5 on the leader board were Warner Pacific's Andrew Johnson (76-77-77=230) and The College of Idaho's Austin Giesie (76-77-79=232).

Northwest Christian was led by reigning CCC Player of the Year Tyler Falk with an 11th place showing after a 54-hole total of 25-over 241 (73-81-87) that included a share of the first round lead following a 1-over 73 over the tournament's opening 18 holes.

The highlight of the final round came when Warner Pacific's Michael Salisbury aced the par-3 11th hole, which is a difficult uphill par-3 that is guarded by bunkers on both the front and back of the green. This was the first hole-in-one of the conference season and helped vault Salisbury into a 12th place finish.

Following the conclusion of play at the final fall tournament of the CCC season, The College of Idaho and Warner Pacific will not tee it up again until the spring with the other three teams – Concordia, Corban, and Northwest Christian – playing once more this month. Both Concordia and Corban will take part in next week's UVic Shootout in Victoria, British Columbia, while Northwest Christian will play a one-round exhibition event on Thursday, October 20th, against Southwestern Oregon Community College in Coos Bay.
