(KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.) After a scoreless first half No. 4 Concordia University showed why they are one of the elite teams in the country, scoring an impressive 5 goals in just 30 minutes of play to take down the Lady Owls of Oregon Tech 5-0 at Trevor Derrah Field Saturday night to open up Cascade Conference play. The Cavaliers improve to 1-0 in CCC play and 6-3-1 overall with the victory. The Lady Owls fall to 0-1 in CCC play and 2-3-1 on the season with the loss.
 
Hannah Scott put Concordia on the board in the 52nd minute taking an Alex Thomas cross on the run and chipped it in for the 1-0 lead. Just 3 minutes later Erin Huisingh took a deflection on the right goal line dribbled past a defender and then squeezed the ball between the Tech Keeper at the post for a 2-0 CU lead.
 
Alex Thomas continued the Cavalier attack as she took a Tahlia Lommasson pass and dribbled around a diving Tech Keeper for the easy score in the64th minute to make it a 3-0 match.
 
Ashley Ames was next on the receiving end of a nice pass from Lommasson, scoring from 20 yards out in 75th minute.
 
Jackie Hendrickson completed the onslaught as she shot from 25 yards out in the 81st minute.
 
Concordia dominated play with a 25-13 advantage in shots and a huge 17-5 advantage in shots on goal.
 
Oregon Tech Goal Keeper Rebekah Matteri kept the match as close as possible making several outstanding saves, overall she was credited with 12 saves in the loss.
 
The Lady Owls will next host Warner Pacific College (1-1-1, 0-1 CCC) on Monday, October 3rd at 7:00 pm at Steen Sports Park.
 
No. 4 Concordia will travel to Ashland, Ore. to play Southern Oregon University on Monday, October 3rd.
