ASHLAND – Southern Oregon scored three second-half goals to earn a 3-0 Cascade Collegiate Conference women’s soccer victory over College of Idaho Saturday afternoon at University Field.

With the win, SOU improves to 9-5-1 overall and 5-1 in conference play. College of Idaho falls to 4-8-1 overall and 2-3-1 in the CCC. Both teams return to action on Monday, when the Raiders will host Eastern Oregon at 2 p.m. and College of Idaho will visit Oregon Tech in Klamath Falls.

The Raiders outshot the Coyotes 23-2 in the match, including 9-1 in a first-half that saw several close scoring opportunities, including a ball that went off the post late in the period. Stephanie Carr finally broke through for SOU in the 52nd minute, taking a pass off a header from Stacey Hamer on the left side of the goal and knocked it in from about five yards out.

Kennedy Roteman gave SOU a pair of insurance scores in a 70-second stretch, scoring her first goal on a penalty kick in the 64th minute. She added her second goal in the 66th minute, taking a pass from Denise Powell on the right side and putting it into the net from close-range to put SOU up 3-0.

Jessica Kuehlwein and Kelsey Clement split the shutout for the Raiders, with Kuehlwein playing the first 80:27 in goal and Clement coming in for the final 10 minutes. College of Idaho goalkeeper allowed three goals with four saves in 71 minutes of play.
