DAY #1 RESULTS

VICTORIA, B.C. – At the conclusion of the opening day of play at the UVic Shootout in Canada, Corban is nine strokes off the lead and Concordia sits 18 strokes back of the leader at Cordova Bay Golf Course.

As a team, Corban posted its lowest single-round of the season at 12-over 296 and trails tournament-leader British Columbia (3-over 287) and shootout host Victoria (8-over 292). Meanwhile, the Warriors are ahead of Manitoba (14-over 298), Lethbridge (18-over 302), Simon Fraser (19-over 303), Concordia (21-over 305), Alberta (26-over 310), and Calgary (35-over 319).

The Corban trio of Chris Dudley, Joey Duwe, and Jared Lambert are part of the five-way tie for sixth individually at 1-over par 72, while Concordia's Jesse Heinley and Jess Wingett are in a 10-way tie for 15th at 4-over 75 each.

Three of Concordia's remaining five golfers are sitting within the Top 40 individually that includes Jed Dalton (t-25th; 5-over 76), Josh Vizcaino (t-31st; 7-over 78), and Taylor Schmidt (t-38th; 8-over 79).

Also competing for Corban are Michael May and Troy Means, who are in a tie for 43rd overall at 9-over 80, while Concordia's Tanner Maahs is part of the three-way tie for 43rd individually as well with an identical score of 9-over par 80.

Competing as an individual for Concordia, Corey King is all alone in 50th place thanks to an opening round score of 13-over 84, while Corban's individual Thomas Graves sits 52nd overall after posting an 18-hole total of 15-over 86.

Both teams will close out the 2011 fall season tomorrow – Tuesday, October 25th – in the second and final round of the UVic Shootout beginning at 8:00 a.m. at Cordova Bay Golf Course in Victoria, British Columbia.
