BOX SCORE

ASHLAND, Ore. – Southern Oregon led for more than 40 minutes and held a 1-0 advantage at halftime, but a pair of second-half goals for No. 4 Concordia gave the Cavaliers the 2-1 victory in Cascade Collegiate Conference women’s soccer Monday afternoon at University Field.

Concordia improves to 7-3-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play following the win. With the loss, Southern Oregon drops to 4-5-1 overall this season and 1-1 in the CCC.

The Raiders opened the scoring in the 17th minute, when Alexis Mahoney’s pass to the middle of the box bounced off a pair of CU players and into the net. Southern Oregon held possession for much of the first half, with all four of the Raiders’ corner kicks coming in the opening period.

Concordia tied it up in the 59th minute, when SOU goalkeeper deflected Jackie Hendrickson’s shot in the box over to CU’s Kaylynn Winwood, who knocked it into the left side of the goal following a Cavalier corner kick. The Cavs took the lead in the 72nd minute, with Hendrickson scoring the game-winner on a shot to the left side from about 10 yards out off a crossing pass from Tahlia O’Loughlin.

Kuehlwein finished with five saves in the match, with CU goalkeeper Tori Talbutt saving two shots.
