Nicole Gall logged a triple-double in Lady Yotes win over WP
CALDWELL, Idaho - Nicole Gall recorded the second triple-double in College of Idaho women’s basketball history, as the Lady Yotes went wire-to-wire with a 75-57 victory over Warner Pacific in a Cascade Conference Tournament quarterfinal inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.
Gall was one of six Lady Yotes (17-12) in double figures, scoring 11 points, adding 11 rebounds, and tying a school-record with 11 assists.
The Yotes opened the game on a 17-2 run, extending the lead to 22-6 on a Dayna Drager trey with 11:23 left in the period. The Knights (16-13) would rally, cutting the margin to 35-29 late in the half, but The C of I held an eight-point lead at the break.
WP got within 50-41 midway through the second half, before a 12-2 run, keyed by three fastbreak buckets to put the game away.
Nicole Bruce led the Yotes with 12 points, with Meghan Hughes and Drager scoring 11. Tyra Rickman and Brianna Hansen had ten points each, with Katelin Shannon adding eight points, nine rebounds, and seven assists. The C of I held a 47-33 rebound edge, hitting 32-of-62 shots on the night.
Kelsey Mattsen led all scorers with 25 points, with Miranda Holenstein scoring ten in the loss.
The Lady Yotes will travel to Salem, Ore., for a semifinal match-up with Corban University, Friday evening at 7 p.m. (PT) Eastern Oregon will travel to Concordia in the other semifinal.
