SALEM, Ore. – Eastern Oregon University's volleyball team won it's third straight match Friday, 3-1 (25-18, 24-26, 25-22, 25-17), over Corban University behind a match-high 16 kills by Stefani Sorensen.

The Mountaineers (3-6, 3-0 Cascade Collegiate Conference) are one win from beginning CCC play 4-0 for the first time in school history. EOU needs to defeat Northwest Christian on the road Saturday to accomplish the feat.

Sorensen had a match-high 16 kills, while Jessica Lea nearly registered a triple-double with 11 kills, a match-high 27 assists, and seven digs. Rebecca Haight added 11 kills, while Lea moves within a mere two kills from passing current Eastern interim head coach Kaki Morehead for second on the EOU all-time career list. Emily Sampson contributed to the Mountaineers' offense with 23 assists, while Kaitlyn Duncan anchored EOU's defense with a match-high 22 digs. Haight chipped in 15 digs and Sampson had 14 digs.

Claire Bailey led Corban with 12 kills, while Tiffany Land and Chandra Baskoro had 11 and 10 kills respectively. Megan Dees finished with 23 assists and 12 digs. Katherine Salness had 16 assists, Bethany Durre had 17 digs, and Baskoro added 15 digs.

Eastern Oregon has now won nine of the last 10 sets over Corban, and three straight matches over the Warriors (7-4, 1-2 CCC). The Mountaineers are also now 8-1 under Morehead versus Corban.

Both teams will close out Cascade Collegiate Conference play this weekend on Saturday, September 10th, as Corban hosts the NAIA's No. 8-ranked College of Idaho and Eastern Oregon travels south to Eugene to take on the Beacons of Northwest Christian. Both matches begin at 7:00 p.m.
