ROCKLIN, Calif. – In the final game of its three-game Northern California road trip, Corban's women's soccer team closed out its non-conference schedule with a loss to William Jessup, 3-2 in double overtime, Monday at Jessup Field.

"Good battle today," said head coach Marty Ziesemer. "We played well in the fact it was our third game in four days. I knew we would be tested on this trip, which is what I wanted. Now we have to get ready for a challenging conference schedule."

Junior Emily Tsugawa (Gladstone, Ore.) scored the game's opening goal when she teamed with sophomore Tera McDonough (Boise, Idaho) and Audrey Sullivan (Puyallup, Wash.) in the 15th minute. Tsugawa would knock home a 50/50 ball in the box to put the visiting Warriors up early, 1-0.

Less than five minutes later, William Jessup tallied the equalizer when Kim Randall beat Corban's goalkeeper in a one-on-one situation with a Warrior defender trailing the play. Randall's goal would tie the game at 1-1 at the 19:06 mark.

Corban would take a one-goal lead into halftime thanks to the second goal of the season by sophomore Abigail Van Hoogen (Boise, Idaho), who teamed with Sullivan on the go-ahead goal that handed the visiting Warriors a 2-1 lead.

At the 51:58 mark, William Jessup got another equalizer when Cara Eskenazi scored unassisted that tied the score at 2-all with just over 40 minutes to play.

Neither team would score again for the remainder of regulation and both sides would go scoreless through the first overtime session.

In the second overtime period, William Jessup ended the game at the 106:49 mark when Alyssa Wimmer headed home the game-winner via a free kick off the foot of Emily Fernandez to score the host Warriors' third and final goal of the game.

Both teams registered 13 total shots, while William Jessup earned the advantage in shots on goal putting three more shots on target than Corban (9-to-6).

Freshman goalkeeper Kaitlyn Mendenhall (Windsor, Calif.) played the entire game for Corban registering a game-high six saves despite allowing all three goals, while William Jessup's Morgan Kinyon tallied four saves en route to picking up the win.

With today's result, Corban falls to 5-3-0 overall and William Jessup improves to 3-5-0. The Warriors will take an 11-day break before returning to the field on Saturday, October 1st, in the team's Cascade Collegiate Conference opener against Northwest beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Warrior Field in Salem.
