BRUSH PRAIRIE, Wash. — Playing its best golf of the tournament in the final round, the Concordia women's golf team ran away from the field at the Warner Pacific Invitational on Tuesday, finishing 64 strokes ahead of second-place College of Idaho.

Concordia as a team, shot a tournament-low 327 in the final round on Tuesday, giving them a total of 989 (334-328-327) for the tournament. The team race never became an issue for the Cavaliers, as they shot the three lowest rounds of any team at the tournament.

Sunny Powers helped the Cavaliers run away from the field, as she did so herself in the individual competition. Powers had entered Tuesday two-strokes back of The College of Idaho's Trish Gibbens, but shot a tournament-low 74 in the final round of play to win medalist honors.

Gibbens, meanwhile, shot an 85 on the final day of competition to tie Concordia's Patricia Little for second overall at 241. Little (81-77-83) had been two strokes behind Gibbens after the first day, but made up the two strokes with an 83 on Tuesday.

As far as the team race, The College of Idaho finished second to the Cavs with a total of 1053 (344-355-354). Besides the Yotes, Northwest Christian placed third at the tournament (361-361-356—1078), while Warner Pacific placed fourth (358-379-366—1103), North Idaho Community College placed fifth (365-404-380—1149), Simpson placed sixth (381-386-399—1166) and Corban placed seventh (381-406-399—1186).
