Southern Oregon's Angelica Cahee scored a team-high 22 points off the bench, as the Raiders extended their winning streak to three games with a CCC victory over Corban Saturday in Salem.
Four Southern Oregon Players Score in Double Figures in Win Over Corban

SALEM, Ore. – Nationally-ranked Southern Oregon overcame a career-high 25 points by Corban's Emily Tsugawa, as four Raiders scored in double figures in a 92-74 victory in Cascade Collegiate Conference play Saturday inside the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center.
With tonight's result, Southern Oregon continues its hold on the top spot in the conference improving to 10-1 overall and 2-0 in league play. Meanwhile, Corban falls to 3-7 overall and 0-2 in Cascade Collegiate Conference action.
Southern Oregon had four players score in double figures led by Angelica Cahee with 22 points off the Raiders' bench, while Allison Gida, Melissa Sweat, and Alexi Smith added 21, 18, and 16 points, respectively. Gida and Smith would both post double-doubles with a game-high 10 rebounds each, while Gida also handed out a game-high tying five assists.
Over the opening seven minutes of the game, neither team would hold more than a three-point lead with Corban earning its final lead of the game (16-14) at the 13:00 mark thanks to a three-pointer by Tsugawa. Southern Oregon would use an 8-0 run over a span of four-plus minutes en route to earning a six-point lead (22-16) on a lay-in by Gida with 8:53 on the clock. The visiting Raiders would extend their lead to as much as 10 points (39-29) on a jumper by Ashley Claussen with just under three minutes left before Corban settled for a nine-point deficit (43-34) at halftime.
The second half would see Corban mount a comeback for the second straight night, as the Warriors pulled to within three points (55-52) thanks to an 18-12 run over the opening six minutes. Unfortunately that would be as close as Corban would get, as Southern Oregon pushed its lead to double digits (66-52) on a lay-in by Gida with 11:20 remaining. The visiting Raiders would extend their lead to a game-high 20 points (90-70) on a lay-in by Angelica Cahee with just over three minutes left before Corban got within the final margin of 18 points (92-74) on a jumper by Jade Lowery for the game's final points.
Along with Tsugawa, Tess Bennett and Tara Vanweerdhuizen added 15 and 13 points, respectively, with Bennett pulling down a team-high six rebounds. Tsugawa would also lead the Warriors in assists with a game-high tying five, while also registering a game-high five steals.
As a team, Southern Oregon was a combined 39-for-69 (52.2%) from the field that included a 22-for-37 (59.5%) performance in the second half. The Raiders were also 4-of-9 (44.4%) from long distance and 16-of-21 (76.2%) at the charity stripe. On the other hand, Corban combined to shoot 31-for-79 (39.2%) from the field that included 7-for-19 (36.8%) showing from beyond the three-point line and a 5-for-6 (83.3%) performance at the free throw line.
Corban will return to action on Friday, December 7th, against the Warriors of Lewis-Clark State in the opening game of the KER Classic beginning at 4:00 p.m. on the campus of Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington. Meanwhile, Southern Oregon will return to the hardwood one night later – Saturday, December 8th – against Simpson beginning at 2:00 p.m. in Redding, California.
