WPC rolls past Quest 91-47

COSTA MESA, Calif. - The Warner Pacific men's basketball team won their second game in as many days at the Vanguard University Tourney, defeating Quest University of 91-47 today in Costa Mesa.

The Knights shot 52 percent for the game, while holding the Kermodes from Squamish, British Columbia to just 34 percent. WPC also held a 40-29 advantage on the boards.

Quest matched WP shot for shot in the early going, and after a free throw from Michael Powell at the 12:54 mark their deficit was just 9-11. The Knights began to pull away at that point and forged a lead of 20 points (39-19) with 3:10 showing on the clock. A three pointer from Ryan Parks and a free throw from Zac Compton gave WPC a 43-19 lead at the halftime buzzer.

The second period was more of the same, with Warner Pacific steadily increasing their lead. The Knights eventually led by as many as 47 points before settling for the 91-47 win.

Stephen Harris registered another double-double for WP, scoring 17 points and grabbing 15 rebounds. Ryan Parks continued his dead-eye shooting from distance, hitting 6 of 9 tries from three point range and finishing with 19 points. 

Michael Zayas-Duran led Quest with nine points, while Jesse Norris added eight counters off the bench.
