The teams had been scheduled to play a doubleheader, but the second game was rained out and rescheduled for Sunday at 11 a.m. Southern Oregon will follow that game with a doubleheader against No. 20 College of Idaho beginning at 1 p.m., with Eastern Oregon heading to Medford to face No. 6 Oregon Tech in a doubleheader.

Eastern Oregon pitcher Alex Hillmick took a one-hitter into the seventh inning and limited SOU to one run on three total hits to pick up the win. Jordyn Kurtz earned the tough-luck loss, yielding two runs on nine hits with eight strikeouts.

Emily Anderson finished with three hits in four at bats for EOU, and Georgianna Kelly added a pair of hits. Jessica Flores finished with two of SOU’s three hits.

The Mountaineers took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fifth. Anderson doubled to left and came around to score on Cassie Wendt’s single up the middle. Eastern Oregon’s second run came in the sixth, as Kelly stroked an RBI single to left with two runners on and two outs, scoring Findley from second base.

Southern Oregon came up with a pair of hits in the seventh inning after picking up only one base hit through the first six frames. Melissa Corn led off with a single to center, and one out later Flores knocked a double to left center that brought Corn home from first to make it a one run game.
