EUGENE, Ore. – Head coach Tracy Smith earned her 240th career victory, as Corban's women's volleyball team closed out its non-conference schedule with a three-set sweep over New Hope Christian, 3-0 (25-12, 25-10, 25-11), Wednesday inside the Rexius Event Center.

As a team, Corban tallied 35 kills on 70 swings with a mere five attack errors. The Warriors were led offensively by senior Chandra Teague, who tallied a match-high 10 kills on 17 swings without committing any hitting errors en route to a career-high hitting percentage of 0.588.

With tonight's win, Corban improves to 2-4 overall and pushes its current winning streak to two matches. Meanwhile, New Hope Christian drops to 0-3 on the season with all three losses coming at the hands of Cascade Collegiate Conference opponents.

Along with Teague, junior Jenny Harman and freshman Caitlin Marinos each tallied seven kills to go along with a pair of four-kill performances by junior Olivia Shropshire and sophomore Courtney Mulford. Sophomore setter Katherine Salness controlled the Warriors' offense with a match-high 19 assists, while also adding a match-high 11 digs for her fourth double-double of the season. At the net, Shropshire led all players with a match-high four blocks.

In the opening set, New Hope Christian would jump out to a 3-1 lead before Corban used a 5-3 run to tie the score at 6-all on a Teague kill. New Hope Christian would get as close as five points (17-12) thanks to a combo block by Carly Howard and Julie Peters before Corban closed out the set on a 9-0 run that concluded with a Teague kill for the 25-12 victory.

Set #2 would belong to the Warriors from the start, as Corban jumped out to a three-point lead (7-4) before Teague stepped behind the line and served up 11 straight points that included four service aces for a 13-point Warrior advantage (18-5). Corban would continue to apply the pressure building a 23-9 lead before New Hope Christian got into double digits for points. Unfortunately for the host Deacons, Corban's lead was too much as the Warriors closed out the second set with a 15-point victory (25-10) on another kill by Teague.

The third and final set would see Corban score the opening eight points all on the serve of Salness, while New Hope Christian struggled to score points. Once again, the visiting Warriors would secure a 14-point lead (23-9) before NHC would get its 10th point and Corban cruised to a 14-point win (25-11) en route to securing the three-set sweep.

New Hope Christian was led offensively by Elaine Naulu with five kills, while Dorian Perkey and Karina Akaka-Folau each added four kills. NHC's Danae Perkey would tally a team-high 11 assists, while also registering a team-best eight digs.
