BOX SCORE

SALEM, Ore. – After Northwest University scored in the game's opening minute, it took nearly 90 minutes Corban University scored the equalizer resulting in a 1-1 tie in double overtime Saturday in a Cascade Collegiate Conference game on Warrior Field.

Corban (6-5-2, 2-1-1 CCC) battled throughout with the visiting Eagles after Northwest (6-5-1, 2-0-1 CCC) scored 56 seconds into the game on a rebound one-timer from Acacia Johnson for what was thought to be the potential game-winner. The Eagles' goal would come after a corner kick by NU's Shea Samuelson was cleared away by a Warrior defender only to find the foot of Johnson, who rocketed a shot into the back of the net for the early score.

Neither team could muster much offense throughout the game, as it was an evenly played game until the final minute of regulation when Corban's Audrey Sullivan collected a ball along the near sideline and drilled a shot from 25 yards out into the upper right corner of the goal for the game-tying goal with 33 seconds showing on the clock to force extra play.

In both overtime periods, each team registered two shots with only one by the Warriors being on-target resulting in the deadlock.

Goalkeeper Kaitlyn Mendenhall registered three saves for the host Warriors, while Northwest's Patty Hughes tallied a game-high four stops for the Eagles.

Overall, Northwest registered three more shots (14-to-11) than Corban with the Warriors putting five shots on frame versus the Eagles' four. Northwest also earned three more corner kicks (5-to-2) than Corban with the Eagles being whistled for 15 fouls versus the Warriors' 13.

Northwest will be back in action on Thursday, October 17th, when the Eagles hosts The College of Idaho at 3:00 p.m. in Kirkland. Meanwhile, Corban returns to action one day later – Friday, October 18th – against conference rival Northwest Christian in a 3:00 p.m. contest on Warrior Field in Salem.
