WPC's A.J. Nelson won his first career tournament at the Warner Pacific Invite
Concordia, NCU Share Team Title at Warner Pacific Invite
PORTLAND, Ore. – Concordia erased a slim one-stroke difference in the final round to tie overnight leader Northwest Christian for the team title at the Warner Pacific Invitational held at Glendoveer Golf Course. Concordia (307-298-298=903) equaled the Beacons' three-round score (304-300-299=903) as all players dealt with cold and wet conditions.
Tournament host Warner Pacific (303-314-300=917) finished 3rd followed by Corban (312-308-300=920), Willamette (297-320-306=923), Walla Walla Community College (305-308-315=928), Oregon Tech (317-317-311=945), and The College of Idaho (325-319-316=960).
Individually, Warner Pacific's A.J. Nelson captured his first-ever tournament title with a three-round total of five-under par 214 (70-73-71) to win the event by three strokes over Concordia's Jesse Heinly (76-70-71=217).
Rounding out the Top 5 individuals were overnight leader Tyler Falk of Northwest Christian (72-70-76=218), Lambert, first round leader Jacob Armelina of Willamette (68-78-76=222), and NCU's Sam Mar (72-77-73=222).
