Concordia Duo Leads Cavaliers to Team Title at WPC Open
PORTLAND, Ore. – Concordia University captured the women’s team title with a wire-to-wire victory at the Warner Pacific Invitational held at Glendoveer Golf Course over the past two days.
A pair of Concordia players – Sunny Powers and Kelsey Whiles – tied for individual medalist honors, as the duo posted identical scores of 13-over par 232. Whiles (81-78-73) overcame a six-shot deficit to tie Powers (76-77-79), as Powers captured her second straight individual title. Rounding out the Top 5 individuals were Northwest Christian's Haley Partridge (80-79-78=237), Willamette's Elise Levy (80-75-83=238), and The College of Idaho's Baylee Borchers (81-77-81=239).
Willamette came home in second place (334-331-343=1,008) behind the solid play of Levy and top 10 finisher McKenzie Weinhold (83-85-84=252). The College of Idaho (333-338-347=1,018) placed 3rd followed by Corban University (352-349-362=1063), tournament-host Warner Pacific (372-360-374=1,106), Northwest Christian (375-371-377=1.123), and Oregon Tech (398-384-380=1,162).
