Concordia University's Septi Danciu
LA GRANDE, Ore. – For the second consecutive season, Concordia University’s Septi Danciu has been selected unanimously as Cascade Collegiate Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Year. Northwest University’s Joe Galbraith and Kemar Prince of Corban University were tabbed as the Conference’s top defender and newcomer, respectively.
Danciu, a 5-foot-9 senior forward, lead every major statistical category this season in the CCC. The Bristita, Romania native unleashed 78 shots in 19 games (4.11 spg); he scored 16 goals, and tallied 13 assists, for a total 45 points. Of his 16 goals in 2013, eight were eventual game-winners. He was also responsible for scoring four penalty kick goals; tops in the CCC. The season may or may not have come to an end on Saturday for Danciu and his Cavalier teammates as they fell in the CCC Tournament Championship match to regular-season champion Corban, 1-0. Concordia will await the announcement of the NAIA Opening Round pairings on Monday.
