Warner Pacific Men Roll Past New Hope Christian
PORTLAND, Ore. - Warner Pacific had no trouble with New Hope Christian tonight, rolling past the Deacons 104-35 in men's basketball action at
Bart Valentine Court.
The Knights (3-2) scored the ball at a 56 percent clip (42 of 74), while New Hope never found the range from the floor and finished 8 of 64 for a 12 percent efficiency.
The visiting Deacons (0-3) managed to hang around early, and led 7-5 after a layup from T.J. Little with four minuted ticked off the clock. The Knights proceeded to reel off 17 straight points to seize control and never looked back. The advantage for the Knights continued to grow and
Ryan Parks drained a trey in the closing seconds to make the score 49-20 in favor of WPC at the break.
Doug Thomas splashed a three pointer for Warner Pacific right out of the break, and the Knights ran away with the game from there. New Hope had no answers for the WP defense and found themselves trailing 67-20 before Alexander Coleman finally broke the spell with a make from distance at the 13:23 mark.
The combination of ice-cold shooting from NHCC and the hot-shooting from Warner Pacific continued until final buzzer, leading to the 104-35 final score.
WPC's
Sean Gaines led all scorers with 19 points on 8 of 12 shooting.
Doug Thomas added 16 points, while
Michael Hall contributed 14 points and 14 rebounds.
