CLACKAMAS, Ore. - The College of Idaho's solid pitching and defense shut out Northwest University in both games of their CCC doubleheader today at Delta Park with identical 6-0 scores. The games were moved from Kirkland to Clackamas due to weather and field conditions.

In the first game, the Eagles were limited to four hits by Nickayla Skinner as the College of Idaho earned the 6-0 shut out. Skinner set a C of I record for shutouts (15) and career wins (43). The Yotes scored twice in the top of the 2nd, 3 times in the 3rd and once in the 6th inning for the win. Ashley Van Horne hit a two run home run in the 2nd inning to give the Yotes the early lead. In the 3rd inning, three straight singles by Kayla Webb, Alexis Macias and Julia Henrie scored Webb for one run. Rachael Strong then singled in scoring Macias and Henrie to put the C of I up 5-0.

Hannah Ganfield went 2 for 3 for the Eagles while teammate Ricki Tacdol and Vanessa Ahrendt each had one hit for NU.

Kelli Peckham took the loss for Northwest (4-21, 2-11 CCC) giving up 5 runs on 4 hits, 2 strikeouts and 2 walks. Vanessa Ahrendt came in to relieve Kelli and pitched 4.2 innings giving up 5 hits, 1 run, two walks and registered 4 strikeouts.

Game 2: It was a tough day for Eagle bats as the College of Idaho pitcher Cortni Pena held NU to just three hits on her way to a 6-0 shutout in the second game of their CCC doubleheader. Pena went the distance for the Yotes going 7 innings, giving up 3 hits, struck out 9 and issued no walks in the victory. Rachael Strong and Anna Denn each had 2 RBIs and 2 hits for the College of Idaho (17-15, 5-7 CCC).

Baldwin and Henrie eventually scored also on a fielder's choice for the Yotes' 3 run inning. They got two more runs in the 2nd inning when Rachael Strong singled in Henrie and Baldwin.
