Hustin' Owls Sweep College of Idaho
(KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.) – Oregon Tech pounded out 25 hits and scored 17 runs in sweeping a NAIA West double-header from College of Idaho 8-1 and 9-3 Sunday afternoon at Kiger Stadium. Oregon Tech stays in the hunt for a playoff spot, improving to 15-27 on the season and 7-13 in NAIA West play. College of Idaho slips to 9-11 in the NAIA West and 18-18 on the season.
In game 1, Oregon Tech Starting Pitcher Talon Sisley gave up only 2-hits and 1-run over 8-innings to improve to 3-4 on the season, getting plenty of offense as the Hustlin’ Owls combined for 10-hits and 8-runs, highlighted by Dylan Rogers hitting his 2
nd home-run of the season.
Oregon Tech took an early 2-0 lead scoring twice on 2-hits, an error and a wild pitch, highlighted by an RBI single from Catcher Tyler Conklin.
College of Idaho scratched across a run in the top of the 5
th inning scoring without the benefit of a hit. The Yotes took advantage of a hit batter, a walk, a wild pitch and an Owl error to score their only run of the game to make it 2-1.
Conklin was at it again in the sixth inning, giving Tech a 3-1 lead as he singled in Spencer Reed who had doubled.
Dylan Rogers would give the Owls a 4-1 lead as he hit his 2
nd home-run of the season, a long fly ball that just got over the right field wall.
Oregon Tech would add 4 more runs in the bottom of the eighth inning highlighted by an Alex Reynolds 2-run single.

th as Owls picked up their 14
th win of the season.
In game 2, Oregon Tech took a 4-0 lead before the Yotes added 3-runs in the fourth inning to make it a 4-3 game. Oregon Tech would answer with 5-runs in the fifth inning and then let mother-nature take it from there, as the game was called because of rain and snow showers after 5-innings.
Tech took a 1-0 lead after Reynolds doubled to lead off the bottom of the first and came into score on a Rogers’ RBI single.
A Ryan Hayden 2-run triple in the 3
rd inning would score Rogers and Aaron Bocchi to give Tech a 3-0 lead. Hayden would then make it a 4-0 lead as he scored on a Ethan Schlecht single.
C of I made things interesting, scoring 3-runs on 4-hits in the top of the fourth inning highlighted by a pair of doubles from Jarel Lewis and Sam Johnston to climb to within a single run.
Oregon Tech broke the game open in the bottom of the fifth inning scoring 5-runs on 5-hits on 3-extra base hits all with 2-outs. After Schlecht doubled, Reed singled scoring Schlecht. Jared Nelson then doubled to deep center scoring Reed. After Reynolds walked, Tyson Dahl tripled off the wall to score Reynolds. Rogers finished up the scoring with an RBI single to right scoring Dahl to give Tech the 9-3 win. After a 30 minute rain delay the game was called because of weather and forecast for continued wet weather.
Seth Champlin and Dylan Rogers each had 3-hits to lead their respective teams.
Oregon Tech's BJ Wilson pitched 2-shut out innings to get the win as he improved his record to 3-4.
