PORTLAND, Ore.— Jumping out to a 20-4 lead, Northwest University never trailed as the Eagles posted an 86-66 win at Concordia University on Saturday night.

Alyssa Dario opened up the scoring for Northwest with a 3-pointer and the Eagles never looked back en route to the 20-point win. The win boosted Northwest into a tie for fifth place in the CCC standings with a 5-4 mark in league games. Concordia , meanwhile, dropped to 1-8 in the CCC and 3-17 overall.

Dario's shot just 24 seconds into the game would set the tone for the rest of the night as the Eagles would march forward for a 22-point lead (32-10) in the late stages of the first half.

Concordia fell into this deficit with 11 first-half turnovers while 27.6 percent shooting from the field.

The Cavs closed to within 14 (35-21) on a Caitlyn McCutcheon (Portland, Ore./St. Mary's Academy) layup with 3:32 left in the first but the Eagles closed out the half in strong fashion a Jordan Asher drive gave the visiting team a 44-23 advantage to close the half.

Hitting 13 of 16 from the free throw line in the second half, Northwest would extend its lead to as many as 28 points (72-44).

Asher and Dario each scored 14 points to share game-high totals. Jenna Lewis added nine points while five other Eagles finished with eight-point nights. Chanara Greene was one of those players with eight points but also hauled in a game-high 13 rebounds.

Gabi Beyer (Edmonds, Wash./Meadowdale H.S.) and Caitlyn McCutcheon (Portland, Ore./St. Mary's Academy) led Concordia in scoring with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Northwest will return home and prepare for a Jan. 24 matchup against Corban University.
