KIRKLAND, Wash. – Seven players scored in double figures as Northwest University flew by Multnomah University 117-70 tonight in non-league play. The Eagles also hit 66% of their shots for the night hitting 50 of 76 shots.
 
The Eagles broke out to a fast start posting 13-0 lead before Multnomah’s Michael Kamlade would hit a 3-pointer at 16:49. Four straight Lion free throws would make it a 21-7 game, but NU would counter with an 11-0 run topped off by a Thomas Jordan trey and a steal and pull up jumper by Cody Shackett to put Northwest up 32-7 at the 10 minute mark. The Eagles would continue their hot hand shooting 68% in the first half to build a 64-37 lead at the break.
 
Northwest’s would continue hitting high percentage shots in the second half while grabbing 19 steals on the night and finishing the steals with lay-ins. The Eagles also shared the ball totaling 20 assists with Thomas Jordan dishing out 7 of them.
 
C.J. Carter led the way for Northwest U (6-2) with 23 points. Dak Shagren added 19 while Tomas Ogbaslassie and Nemanja Grujicic each added 13 points. Marko Nikolic dropped in 12, Jeremy Paull 11 and Paul Loranger contributed 10 points in the Eagle win. Nikolic and Loranger led the team in rebounding with 8 boards each.
 
Multnomah (3-9) was led by Tanner Shula’s game high 25 points. Blake Updike, Michael Kamlade, and Jordan Paris all scored 11 for the Lions who shot 36% for the game. The taller Northwest U squad held a large advantage in rebounding with a 50-16 margin.
 
Northwest U continues play tomorrow night in Parkland, Wash., when they play Pacific Lutheran at 7:30 p.m.
