LA MIRADA, Calif. – Biola University led the entire game as they defeated Northwest University, 66-48, in a non-conference contest early Saturday evening.

With 13:32 showing on the clock, Marko Nikolic’s layup would make it a 2 point deficit, 10-8, but that would be about the closest the Eagles would get to the team out of the NAIA Division I GSAC in Southern California. Pierre Zook would drain a 3-pointer at 11:24 to stretch the Biola lead to 20-10. Tommy Jordan would cut the BU lead to five, 30-25, with 1:15 left in the half, but Dakari Archer would get to the rim for a layup and would give Biola a 32-25 lead at the break.

In the second half, Northwest would cut into the Eagle lead and close to within 5 twice, but each time Biola would answer to grow their lead. Four straight BU free throws at the 6:34 mark would increse the Biola lead to 61-42. Twelve points would be the closest Northwest U would get as the BU Eagles would win their third game of the season.

Senior Tommy Jordan from Southern California (Pasadena) led Northwest U (2-2) with 14 points on 4 for 6 shooting (66%). CJ Carter another product from SoCal and La Madeira, Calif., dropped in 10 points while teammate Marko Nikolic led the Eagles with 10 rebounds.

Biola (3-0) got a team high from Dakari Archer along with 4 assists and Pierre Zook score 17 points hitting 5 of 11 shots for 45% shooting. Biola shot 45% as a team, 55% from the 3-point line (11 of 20). Northwest controlled the backboards with a 41-28 margin.

Northwest U will return home to Kirkland and will host the Evergreen State College in a non-conference game on Thursday, Nov. 13.
