SOU Surges Past Warner Pacific in Second Half
PORTLAND, Ore. – Southern Oregon rebounded from a six point halftime deficit to defeat Warner Pacific 67-63 tonight at
Bart Valentine Court.

• The Short Story: Warner Pacific scored the first seven points of the game and led 38-32 at halftime, but watched it slip away as Southern Oregon came back to earn the Cascade Conference win. The visiting Raiders did their damage at the free throw line, making 27 of 33 attempts compared to just a nine of 16 effort from the Knights. WPC was able to maintain the lead until the 7:57 mark, when Autumn Durand made two free throws to give SOU the lead for good. Carly Meister scored 15 of her game high 27 points in the second half to lead 13th ranked SOU.
How it Happened
• The Knights came out firing, hitting their first three shots including a trey from Kyeli Hendryx.
• A few moments later, Daesha Jackson hit from distance to give WP their largest lead of the game at 14-4.
• SOU weathered the storm and eventually drew within three points (35-32) after a Bree Park triple.
• Jordan Wilcox sent WPC into the break with her own three pointer which provided the six point lead for the Knights.
• After Lisa Chiem canned a short jumper at the 13:35 mark, WP led by seven and seemed in control.
• The steady flow of made free throws began to make the difference for SOU - the Raiders were 23 of 27 in the second period alone.
• Wilcox made two free throws to cut the gap to 65-63, but SOU came up with a clutch basket with .11 seconds left to seal the win.
