PORTLAND, Ore.—Four Beacons scored in double figures as Northwest Christian handed Concordia an 81-74 loss inside the Cavalier Gymnasium on Tuesday night.
In a near elimination game for a spot in the CCC tournament for the Beacons, Northwest Christian (4-13, 8-18 CCC) jumped out to a 19-10 lead behind apair of 3-pointers by Chandler Gabrio.
Concordia (7-21, 4-12 CCC) erased most of the deficit over the middle portion of the first half, pulling to within one, 23-22, off a layup from
Briannah Smith (San Francisco, Calif./Sacred Heart Cathedral).
Concordia managed to take its first lead of the game at 33-32 on free throws by
Kelly Huey (San Francisco, Calif./Lincoln H.S.) with 1:55 remaining, but the Beacons maintained their composure by holding the home team without a point the rest of the way to hold a 36-33 lead at the break following a last-possession layup by Melyssa Weber.
After the break, Concordia regained the lead (39-28) off a free throw by Smith, but with both teams trading baskets, neither side could create separation through the early minutes of the second half.
