LINCOLN, Neb. — (Day Three Results: Team | Individual | Final Round Pairings) Coming back with a strong back nine, Concordia's Sunny Powers (Medford, Ore./North Medford H.S.) remained in contention for a top-10 finish with a 4-over 76 in the third round of play at the NAIA Women's Golf National Championships on Thursday.

Through 54 holes, Powers (74-79-76—229) resides tied for 13th place on the leaderboard. All tied for seventh place, six golfers are just one shot ahead of Powers while Oklahoma City's Elia Folch (72-75-73—220) and SCAD Savanah's Alaze Urizer (76-71-73—220) share the overall lead at 4-over 220.

Powers was 3-over through the first nine holes on Thursday, hitting one birdie , two bogeys and a double-bogey but came back with just two bogeys and a birdie on No. 18 for a 1-over on the final nine holes. Playing on the same course at Wilderness Ridge Golf Club, Powers tied for 11th place last season with a 75-80-77-78—310 at the NAIA National Championships.

Paired together in the day's final grouping off of hole No. 1, top-ranked SCAD Savannah (Ga.) and defending national champion Oklahoma City went to battle in third round action at the 2014 NAIA Women's Golf National Championships.

The Bees, who held a three-stroke lead after 36 holes, shot an 18-over par 306 (304-304-306—914) to conclude day three at 50-over par for the national championships. The Stars carded a 15-over par 303 (302-309-303—914) to move into a tie with SCAD Savannah at 50-over par heading into the final round. Each of Oklahoma City's scoring four recorded a score of 78-or-better during the third round to make up the Stars' three-stroke deficit.

The final round kicks off at 7:30 a.m. CDT Friday with the top nine teams teeing off from hole No. 1 and teams No. 10-17 and individuals beginning play at hole No. 10.
