KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Warner Pacific scored three second half goals to break up a 1-1 tie as the Knights picked up their first Cascade Conference win of the season to improve to 1-1-1 in the CCC and 3-1-1 on the season. Oregon Tech falls to 1-6 on the season and 0-3 in CCC play. Oregon Tech took the early lead as Colton Grytness stole the ball from a Knight defender, dribbled 40 plus yards, then beat the keeper to give the Owls a 1-0 lead less than two minutes into the game. That would be all the scoring Tech would get on the day. Warner Pacific tied the game in the 10th minute as Mario Guizar took a Vladan Vlaski cross and scored from 15 yards out. After the halftime break, Guizar would be at it again, this time scoring the eventual game winner in the 63rd minute, scoring unassisted from 8 yard out. The Knights would add two more goals over the next 8 minutes. Geovanny Vazquez gave WP a 3-1 lead as he took a nice pass from Adler Pottebaum, settled the ball and scored in the upper right. Pottebaum would wrap up the Knight scoring as he took a pass from Alejandro Catalan and scored in the 69th minute giving the Knights a 4-1 win. For the game, Warner Pacific out-shot Tech 17-6 and held an 8-3 advantage in shots on goal. Warner Pacific’s Joe White picked up the win between the pipes improving his record to 2-1-1 on the year as he picked up 2-saves on the day. Oregon Tech Keeper, Kurtis Pipkin, was credited with 4 saves as he picked up the loss. Oregon Tech will look to pick up their first Conference win on Saturday when they host College of Idaho on Saturday at 3:30 pm at Trevor Derrah Field at Steen Sports Park. Warner Pacific will head home to host Evergreen State College on Saturday at 7:30 pm at Delta Park.
