Oregon Tech Pulls Away From Evergreen State, 85-57
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Lavar Moore notched a game-high 31 points and Oregon Tech methodically pulled away from Evergreen State in the second period to post an 85-57 win in Cascade Collegiate Conference men’s basketball action tonight at Danny Miles Court.
Oregon Tech ran their CCC mark to 5-3 and are now 12-6 on the season. Evergreen, meanwhile, falls to 3-11 overall and 0-7 in CCC play.
The Owls led from start to finish with the home team taking a double-figure advantage, 14-4, on a Kyle Waits jumper with 13:38 remaining in the opening period.
Tech would go up by as many as 16 points, on three separate occasions, the last on a Duncan Schramm score with 16 seconds to go in the first half. That would be the last basket of the half as the Owls went to intermission with a 35-19 lead.
The 16 point advantage would balloon to as many as 30 in the second half before Tech settled for the 85-57 win.
Moore finished 10-of-15 from the floor, including a 5-for-8 effort from long range, while hitting all six of his free throws to take scoring-honors. Kyle Waits scored 16 points and grabbed six rebounds with Duncan Schramm adding 11 points in the win. Josh Johnson grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds with Brandon Bautista handing out five assists and Jalen Carvalho four.
Brock Otis led the Geoducks with 19 points to go with five rebounds, while Alix Hernandez added 11 points in the loss. Jordan Dam grabbed a team-high seven boards with Marquise Doss coming away with three assists.
