EUGENE, Ore. – Julia Young hit a pair of free-throws with six seconds left and Corban University hung on for a 74-73 upset victory over Northwest Christian University on Tuesday evening, giving the Beacons their second straight loss and first CCC defeat at home on the season.

Corban (12-10, 7-6 CCC) out-rebounded the Beacons 43-23 and shot 58% in the second half, overcoming a six-point deficit after three quarters to claim the win. Northwest Christian (13-8, 9-4) shot 46% from the field including an 11-for-24 night from three-point range.

NCU was led by sophomore Niki Duncan who set a new NCU single-game record with seven three-pointers. Her 28 points were the most by a Beacon player since Lindsey Shearer hung 29 on The College of Idaho on January 5, 2013.

Andrea Gloss was also in double figures with 13 points, adding team-highs with six assists, three blocks and two steals. Monique Thompson scored 11 points and Hanna Mack finished with seven points and nine rebounds.

Young scored 21 points and 11 rebounds for the visitors, matching the 21 point night from teammate Jade Lowery. Payton Wilcox added 12 points and Sadie Pilgeram scored 11.

The Beacons will be back in action on Thursday, traveling across town to face New Hope Christian College in a non-conference duel at 5:30 pm.
