ASHLAND – The sixth-ranked Eastern Oregon Mountaineers were their typically-clinical selves Saturday night against Southern Oregon, coasting to a 25-21, 25-15, 25-13 sweep at Mountain Avenue Gym.

EOU (17-1 overall, 10-0 Cascade Conference), which has won 17 in a row since a season-opening loss to third-ranked Westmont (Calif.), was led by Amanda Miller's 16 kills, Rachelle Chamberlain's 40 assists and Holli Mullins' 19 digs. As a team, the Mountaineers attacked at an average of .388 – the highest for a Raider opponent since the 2013 season.

What's more, the performance was hardly an anomaly; for the season, the Mountaineers are attacking at a clip of .297. If the season ended today, that would go down as the best mark in the history of the conference.

Through the first half of the CCC schedule, EOU has won 30 of 31 sets.

The Raiders (9-8, 6-4) dropped to fifth place with the loss. Emma gasman had 13 kill, Taylor Ristvedt had 11, Lauren McGowne dropped 31 assists and Ashlyn Flynn corralled 19 digs, but they were blocked 10 times and hit .119.

After falling behind 10-7 in the second set, the Mountaineers rattled off an 8-1 run to turn it around and a 9-1 run to end it.

Kasaundra Tuma added nine kills, while Madisen Garlie and Isabelle Statkus had seven apiece.

SOU travels to Washington next weekend to start the second half of conference play, Friday against Evergreen State and Saturday at Northwest.
