Warriors Fly Past Owls
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.- No.22 Corban University had no problem with Oregon Tech Friday night at Danny miles Court as the Warriors improve to 16-5 in Cascade Conference play and 20-5 on the season with a straight set 3-0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-9), victory over Oregon Tech who falls to 7-12 in CCC Play and 11-14 on the year.
Adriana Aguayo led the Warriors with 13 kills with Marandah Boeder slamming home 10 kills in the win as Corban had a .297 kill percentage for the game.
Kelsey Sampson had a great night for the Owls as she had 13 kills with a kill percentage of.257. Bailey Nelson and Mykala Rubey added 5 kills each in the loss.
Corban used three different 4-0 runs to capture set 1, 25-18.
In set 2, OIT took early leads of 4-1, 8-4, and 11-8 before the Warriors warmed up and tied the set at 12. The match was tied again at 14, 16, 17, 18, 20 and 22 before Corban took 3 of the final 4 points to win 25-23.
Corban showed why they are the 22
nd ranked team in the country in set 3, as they held leads of 4-1, 6-1, 10-5 and 16-8 before going on an 8-0 run to win the set 25-9, and the match 3 sets to 0.
The Lady Owls will host Northwest Christian on Saturday for senior day at 5:00 pm at Danny Miles Court.
Corban will travel to Southern Oregon University for a game against SOU in Ashland on Saturday.
