KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.-  Oregon Tech tallied 30-hits and 22-runs in sweeping a Cascade Conference doubleheader from Eastern Oregon University Saturday. The Owls won game one 14-7 and game two 9-4. OIT moves to 13-3 in CCC play and 20-13 on the season. EOU slips to 9-5 in CCC play and 20-16 overall.
 
Game 1
Oregon Tech out muscled Eastern Oregon University to win 13-7. Kelly Scott picked up the win for the Owls. Tech had a 17-11 advantage in hits in the game.
 
Tech scored one run in the first and added two more runs in the second to take a 3-0 lead. Oregon Tech took control with 4-runs in the fourth on 6-hits to take the 6-0 lead.
 
EOU picked up their first hit and run of the game in the fourth inning, putting up 3-hits.
 
It looked like OIT had put the game away in the bottom of the inning as they scored 3-runs on 4-hits to go up 10-1.
 
The Mountaineers answered in a big way in the top of the fifth, coming up with 6-runs on 6-hits to make it a 10-7 game.
 
Tech scratched across a run in the bottom of the fifth on a hit, a stolen base and a sacrifice fly to take an 11-7 lead.
 
The Owls added two runs in the 6th on an Alyssa Davis 2-run homer to take a 13-7 lead into the 7th.
 
Eastern threatened in the top of the 7th after a lead-off double by Shelby Baertsch followed by a single from Maryssa Santi. Scott settled down and was able to get the next three batters in order to end the game as she picked up the win and improved to 4-2 on the year.
 
Cassidy Hoglund had 4-hits to lead the Owls with Tara Moates and Ali Graham each adding 3-hits in the win.
 
EOU was led by Baertsch with 3-hits.
 
Game 2
Ali Graham got things going for Oregon Tech with a 3-run homer in the bottom of the first. It was her 8th of the year to give OIT the 3-0 lead.
 
EOU scored a run in the second inning to make it a 3-1 game.
 
OIT erupted for 6-runs in the bottom of the fourth on 6-hits to take a 9-1 lead.
 
EOU answered with 2-runs in the top of the 5th and a run in the 6th to make it a 9-4 final.
 
Moates had 3-hits to lead OIT with Graham, Katie Virtue and Cassidy Hoglund adding 2-hits each.
 
Haley Hess led EOU with 3-hits with Marisa Gonzales chipping in two hits in the loss.
 
Ali Graham picked up the win for the Owls going the distance to improve to 7-6 on the season
 
Hailey Kline picked up the loss for EOU, falling to 9-5 on the season.
 
Oregon Tech will next play a make-up doubleheader is Salem, Ore. against Corban University on Tuesday, April 5th at 2:00 pm before hosting Southern Oregon University next Saturday at 11:00 am at the OIT Softball Complex.
