Rocky men's soccer completes Saturday sweep of the College of Idaho
BILLINGS, Mont. - September 17, 2016 - The Rocky Mountain College Battlin' Bears men's soccer squad squeezed out a 2-1 victory over the visiting College of Idaho 'Yotes on the pitch of Wendy's Field, Saturday.
Rocky forward Nolan Sherwood, a sophomore from Las Vegas, Nev., got the Battlin' Bears on the board with an unassisted goal at the 20:33 mark.
The College of Idaho's Guilherme Siqueria, a junior midfielder from Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, notted the score when he found the net at the 35:23 minute.
The Battlin' Bears' Alexander Taylor, a sophomore midfielder from Henderson, Nev., knocked in the deciding goal just before the intermission (43:22).
The Battlin' bears outdistanced the 'Yotes 13-6 on shots. Rocky goalkeeper Cole Catlin recorded 2 saves, while Grant Billings had four saves for the 'Yotes.
The victory sends the Battlin' Bears to 1-0 in Cascade Conference play, and imporves the team's overall record to 3-2.
Rocky's next match is September 23 at Multnomah University.
