Seniors Lead Lady Yotes Past Walla Walla, 96-42

CALDWELL, Idaho – Playing for the final time inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center, the five College of Idaho seniors combined for 59 points, as the Lady Yotes routed Walla Walla, 96-42, inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.
 
The Lady Yotes (12-14, 12-8 CCC) forced a season-high 36 turnovers, leading to 43 points, as C of I recorded their most lopsided win in over a year.  The victory ended a two-game losing streak, sending the team to the postseason on a high note – as the Coyotes will travel to Northwest Christian on Tuesday night for a 7 p.m. (PT) quarterfinal match-up.
 
The victory was never in doubt, as Petra Lumpert scored eight of her 15 points in a 17-2 run over the first five minutes of the game. Leading 41-15 at the break, C of I opened the third quarter on a 22-4 run – including consecutive Kiara Skinner treys and six-straight Madison Pilster points, to balloon the lead to 63-19 with 90 seconds left in the period.
 
Pilster had a big night, leading all scorers with 19 points and nine rebounds, converting 8-of-11 field goal attempts. Lumpert added seven rebounds, seven assists and five steals; Skinner scored 13; with Maddie Skaggs recording 12 points and seven rebounds.  In all, 11 different Lady Yotes scored in the victory.
 
The Wolves (2-23, 0-19 CCC), who lost for the 148th-straight time to NCAA or NAIA competition, got 16 points and 10 rebounds from leading scorer Alyssa Blankenship. WWU made just 28-percent of their field goal attempts, including 3-of-21 shots from outside the arc.
 
NOTES: It marked the final home game for Lumpert, Pilster, Skinner, Skaggs and Jaycin Tini; three reserves recorded career-highs, as Madison Holly scored seven points, Lindy Westendorf had seven points and six rebounds, with Alana Riley scoring five; the Coyotes have won their past 15 games when leading at the half.
