ASHLAND – Top-seeded and sixth-ranked Southern Oregon set the tone off the bat and led Multnomah by as many as 36 in the quarterfinal round of the Cascade Conference Tournament presented by U.S. Bank, easing to an 84-62 win Tuesday night at Mountain Avenue Gym.

The Raiders (26-3 overall) collected 20 steals and forced 30 turnovers, including 10 in the opening quarter as they started the game on a 13-2 spurt and never looked back en route to their 28th consecutive home victory.

They'll host College of Idaho at 7 p.m. Friday in the semifinals. The fifth-seeded Yotes, who have been eliminated from postseason play the past two years at SOU, were 85-81 upset winners Tuesday at Northwest Christian.

Autumn Durand recorded a team-high 16 points for SOU, while Casey Williams led a bench that scored 40 points with 15 and seven rebounds. Sydney Mullings had 14 points, five steals, four assists and four rebounds; Tiani Bradford stuffed the box score with eight points, 11 rebounds, five assists, three steals and two blocks; and Demi Sahlinger contributed five assists and four steals.

Reserves Daranda Hinkey and Majerle Reeves chipped in nine points apiece, combining for five of SOU's nine 3-pointers.

Miranda Schmillen's 22 points, five assists and five rebounds led the Lions, who were making their first-ever appearance in the tournament.

They played even with the Raiders in the second quarter and went into halftime down 47-26, but SOU dominated the third with a 10-of-17 shooting performance and 16 points in the paint. After Bradford's transition layup off a steal and assist from Sahlinger, the Raiders had their largest advantage at 71-35 with 2:09 left in the period.

The Raiders, who are the defending tournament champions, have now advanced to the semifinals five years in a row.

In the other quarterfinals, second-seeded Eastern Oregon defeated Corban 76-66, and third-seeded Oregon Tech hung on to beat Northwest (Wash.), 67-57.
