LA GRANDE, Ore. – Another night, another victory for the No. 7 Eastern Oregon women’s basketball as crushed Warner Pacific 105-69 for their 12th-straight victory Saturday night in Cascade Collegiate Conference play at Quinn Coliseum.

For the second-straight night, the Mountaineers (18-2, 11-0 CCC) did not trail in the game, making the opening shot 40 seconds into the game and holding the lead for the final 39 minutes, 20 seconds.

The win advanced EOU to a perfect 11-0 in CCC action as they have now defeated all 10-conference foes. Each win has been by at least 12 points, with the last seven by no fewer than 26 points each. The Mounties have blown opponents out in the first quarter, going ahead by double-digits after 10 minutes in each of the last seven games as well.

Saturday night against the Knights (9-12, 5-6 CCC) was no different as the Mounties stormed ahead by a 27-8 score. They scored 30 points in the second and third quarters each, running away with the 105-69 victory.

The NAIA’s top three-point shooting team continued to shoot the ball at an unbelievable clip, making 50 percent on Saturday night (12-for-24).

The combo of guards Maya Ah You-Dias and Payton Parrish continued to dominate the weekend on Saturday night. After each recording over 20 points on Friday, Ah You Dias put up a team-high 28 points while Parrish scored 25. Ah You Dias also added six assists, six rebounds and five steals in an all-around spectacular game, all in just 20 minutes of play for the All-American.

Junior guard Maren Herrud went 7-for-11 from the field with 17 points and six rebounds. Senior guard Jessica Sexson had 10 points, going 3-for-5 from behind the arc. Senior forwards Stormee Van Belle and Mariah Swanson led the team with five assists each, while Van Belle had six steals.

The difference on the night proved to be the Mountaineers’ ability to turn Warner Pacific turnovers into points. EOU forced 24 turnovers, 16 on steals, scoring 44 points off the Knights’ mistakes. On the flip side, WPC had just 10 points off of EOU turnovers.

For the Knights, Deepika Kapil and Shasta Lofgren each had 12 points. Kapil led the team with six rebounds and made 6-of-6 free throws.

The Mountaineers will head back on the road looking to extend their 12-game winning streak, visiting Corban on Jan. 19. The Blue and Gold defeated the Warriors 73-58 at home on Dec. 16.
