Kalee Fowler led Northwest U with 17 points Eagles Fast Start Too Much for the Yotes 1/5/2018 10:46:00 PM KIRKLAND, Wash. – A fast start in the first quarter would help Northwest University as they would go on to post a 67-46 conference victory over the College of Idaho tonight. The Eagles outscored the Yotes 24-4 in the first period on their way to a 43-18 halftime lead. Northwest U would score the first 12 points of the game before the College of Idaho scored their first basket. Keahi-lele Roy would score the Yotes second basket at the 1:12 mark, but the Eagles would get the final two scores capped off by Kalee Fowler’s lay-up with 9 seconds left for 24-4 lead at quarter’s end. The College of Idaho’s shots would finally start falling in the second quarter, but they would not be able to make up much ground as NU would lead 43-18 at the half. The Yotes would manage just 17% shooting (6-35) while Northwest U would hit 54% of their shots on 20-37 shooting. The College of Idaho’s shooting woes would continue in the third period as Jackie Bento’s tip-in with 3:47 to go would give the Eagles their largest lead of 39 points, 59-20. C of I would make up some ground in the final period outscoring Northwest U 20-8, but it wouldn’t be enough as the Eagles would go on to post the 67-46 victory. Kalee Fowler led Northwest U (6-10, 3-4 CCC) with 17 points. Miranda Langenhorst would score 16 points along with 6 rebounds. Mariah Stacona scored 9 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, handed out 5 assists and had 6 steals. NU shot 47% for the game and out rebounded the Yotes, 50-36. The College of Idaho (1-11, 1-5 CCC) was led by Madison Holly’s 16 points. Jocelyn Cook-Cox scored 8 points and led the Yotes with 10 rebounds. C of I shot 23% for the game and 17% from beyond the 3-point line.
