Kirkland, Wash. – Northwest University (3-7-4, 2-6-3 CCC) lost a first-half lead to the University of Providence (7-5-2, 6-3-2 CCC), losing 2-1 in their final home match of the year.
Senior Trent Siedenburg scored the Eagles’ only goal, knocking in a pass from Noah Prophet in the 27
th minute. Seniors Elijah Gordon and Jake Morse also had shots on goal, but were unable to find the back of the net.
The Argos recovered from their deficit, however, scoring two goals in the final twenty minutes of the game to take the lead. Fernando Gutierrez scored both goals.
This was a disappointing loss for the Eagles, as it was their sixth conference loss of the year.
Head coach Gary McIntosh commented, “senior day is always a special day and game for our program. Our seniors and alumni mean the world to me, the University, and this soccer program would be nothing without them. Tough to not get the win but I could not be more proud of the players for giving it their all. We will enjoy these last two games together.”
