Kirkland, Wash. – Northwest University (0-2) lost on Saturday night to the University of Providence (3-0) with a score of 70-49.
Northwest’s Sam Van Loo had a double-double, scoring a team-high 10 points and 10 rebounds. Lindsey Livi and and Meza Grace added energy off the bench, scoring 9 points apiece.
The Eagles were unable to find much success against the Argos, shooting only 28% percent from the field to the Argos’ 41%. Another big difference in the game was the Argos’ free-throw shooting. Providence went 20-28 from the charity stripe, whereas the Eagles went 5-9.
This was a disappointing second game for the Eagles, who hoped to finish out their season-opening home tournament well.
Northwest head coach Ken Crawford remarked, “A tough loss tonight against a very good team from Great Falls. We continue to gain experience that will make us a better team during the season. We are excited about the possibilities.”
