COMPTON, Calif. – Oregon Tech (4-12) split their doubleheader against Marymount California University (4-7) on Sunday afternoon in Compton, California. The Owls fell 6-7 in a close game one before turning the tables in the nightcap to win 13-12.

The first game started out in favor of the Mariners as they scored three runs in the first inning and one each in the second and fourth.
Tech took over after that as a Josh Overstreet homer gave them their first run in the fifth. Two additional runs in the fifth and sixth put the score at 6-3, but a single run from Marymount set back their efforts again.
A second home run from Josh Overstreet in the eighth helped mark OIT's comeback attempt, and they added another run in the inning and one more in the ninth but fell just short dropping the game 7-6.
Emmett Covello had three hits in the loss, and Tech pitcher Patrick Arman struck out five.
Game 2 Oregon Tech 13 Marymount California 12
The second game was filled with back-and-forth action as the two teams picked up offensively. The Owls held the lead in the first as they opened with two runs, but the Mariners quickly gained the advantage with five runs in the bottom of the inning.
Oregon Tech whittled down the lead over the next two innings, scoring two runs as Marymount was held scoreless. Jordan Crisp broke the drought for the Mariners with a home run in the bottom of the third to move them on top by a score of 6-4.
The Hustlin' Owls took back the lead in the fourth with three runs but subsequently lost it as MCU added four in the bottom of the frame. Tech's final surge came in the fifth and seventh innings as they blasted out six runs to take the lead 13-to-10.
Marymount batted in two more in the bottom of the inning but couldn't get any further as the Owls gritted-out the 13-12 win.
Micah Jio added four hits for the Hooter in the game, with Alex Malcolm, Covello, and Josiah Peterson each adding two, with Covello batted in four run.
The Hustlin' Owls will kick off NAIA-West play on February 29
th and March 1
st in Vancouver, taking on the University of British Columbia in back to back doubleheaders with games at 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm Saturday and 11:00 am and 2:00 pm Sunday.
