PORTLAND, Ore.| Maddie Goss had 3 assists and a goal to help the Knights beat Cal State Maritime 6-0 in their matchup on Saturday night.
The game was a one-sided affair from the beginning. The Knights immediately took control of the tempo and were in attack mode, attempting 35 shots on the game, 24 of which were on goal.
The scoring began with Kiya Gramps in the 18
th minute off of an assist from Maddie Goss. The goal was the first of the season for Gramps. Maddie Goss would get another assist in the 25
th minute on a corner kick that was finished with a beautiful header from Brin Wolvert to put the Knights up 2-0.
The Knights struck one more time before the half was over when Maddie Goss got her 3
rd assist of the game, finding Jackie Castellanos for her first goal of the season.
After racking up the assists, Goss herself struck for a goal in the 55
th minute to make the game 4-0. The Knights tacked on two more goals from Logan Billy and Kaitlin Hirasa before all was said and done.
On the defensive end, it was a quiet night for Warner Pacific goalkeeper Kate Pomerinke, as Cal Maritime didn’t attempt a single shot the entire game.
The dominant team showing lifts the Knights to 2-2-1 on the season. Warner Pacific is back in action Sept. 12 at home when they take on San Diego Christian College.
