CCC 2023 Women’s Soccer Preseason Poll

CORVALLIS, Ore. – After a historic season with a school record of 50 goals and 16 wins, the College of Idaho Women’s Soccer team was predicted to take the 2023 Cascade Collegiate Conference title as the conference released the Preseason Poll on Monday.

The Yotes received 10 of the 13 first-place votes, landing on top of the poll with a total of 162 points. C of I finished the 2022 year with a 16-4-2 overall and 9-1-2 conference record. They fell to Northwest University in the 2022 CCC Women’s Soccer Tournament Championship, presented by U.S. Bank. After earning the conference's second AQ to the NAIA Championship, CI made it to the second round before falling in a heartbreaking 1-0 loss to Keiser University.
Looking to the new season they welcome back star goalkeeper Hannah McFadden who reached a school record of 11 shutouts last year. The Yotes will also have three powerhouse NCAA transfers on their campaign to complete the CCC 2023 Women’s Soccer Preseason Poll prediction.

Southern Oregon University was next, ranked No. 2 while receiving one first-place vote and 143 points. The Raiders are not only welcoming back five key returners but also three newcomers to the SOU Freshmen class.

Eastern Oregon University followed, sitting at No. 3 with one first place and 138 points. EOU is not only being joined by two top transfers but a new head coach, Josh Goodman, who plans to lead the Mountaineers to new heights.

In the No. 4 spot, taking the last first-place vote of the Women’s Soccer Preseason ranking is reigning CCC regular season and tournament champions, Northwest. With 127 points, the Eagles keep six Graduate Students while taking in two new goalies and head coach, April VanAssche, as they set off to defend their crown. Last year, NU lost 2-1 in the opening round of the NAIA Tournament to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

Corban University rounds out the top five with 110 points, Oregon Tech is next with 106 points in sixth while Carroll College slides into the No. 7 position with 99 points. Rocky Mountain College grabbed 91 points to follow at No. 8 while Warner Pacific University is at No. 9 with 58 points.

The Evergreen State College lands at No. 10 with 43 points and University of Providence follows in eleventh with 41 points. Multnomah University (35 points) and Bushnell University (30 points) close out the poll in the No. 12 and No. 13 spots, respectively.

The CCC season kicks off in just over a month on Sept. 15, with the conference tournament set to begin on Nov. 6, hosted by Bushnell in Springfield Oregon.
