CORVALLIS, Ore. –
The following 11 Cascade Collegiate Conference student-athletes have been recognized as the McDonald's Player of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network, for their performances during competition from October 13 – October 19, 2025.
Men’s Golf – Golfer
No. 11-ranked University of British Columbia’s Leighton Wright was named the CCC Men’s Golfer of the Week.
Wright (71-68-69 – 208), a freshman from Barrie, Ont., earned the individual title at the final CCC Tournament of the fall season. He was the only player to finish under par in all three rounds, winning by a five-stroke margin and helping UBC to another team title.
Women’s Golf – Golfer
College of Idaho’s Reece Garey was named the CCC Women’s Golfer of the Week.
Garey (70-74 – 144), a junior from Kimberly, Idaho, earned the individual title at the final CCC Tournament of the fall season. She carded five birdies before earning the playoff victory in front of her home crowd.
Men’s Cross Country – Runner
No. 13-ranked Trinity Western University’s Yemane Mulugeta was named the CCC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
Mulugeta, a sophomore from Surrey, B.C., took first place out of 402 runners at the Linfield George Oja Invitational. He completed the 8K in 23:34.01, finishing 13 seconds ahead of teammate and runner-up Justin Kiplagat.
Women’s Cross Country – Runner
The Evergreen State College’s Alauna Carstens was named the CCC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for the third time this season.
Carstens, a junior from Shelton, Wash., took first place out of 352 runners at the Linfield George Oja Invitational. She completed the 6K in 20:15.20, finishing eight seconds ahead of the runner-up.
Men’s Soccer – Defensive Player
College of Idaho’s Matej Hron was named the CCC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Hron, a senior goalkeeper from Brno, Czech Republic, anchored the Yotes to a strong weekend, recording a scoreless draw against (RV) Southern Oregon University and a 3-0 shutout over Oregon Tech. He totaled 12 saves across the two full-time performances and is currently tied for the most shutouts in conference play while sitting second in total saves.
Men’s Soccer – Offensive Player
(RV) Eastern Oregon University’s Henry Lopez was named the CCC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Lopez, a junior forward from Van Nuys, Calif., netted the game-winning goal in the 53rd minute against (RV) Southern Oregon University, securing EOU’s second 1-0 victory of the weekend.
Women’s Soccer – Defensive Player
(RV) Southern Oregon University’s Brittany Standley was named the CCC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Standley, a senior goalkeeper from Bakersfield, Calif., guided the Raiders to a strong weekend highlighted by a 3-2 upset over No. 4-ranked College of Idaho. She tallied 12 saves and posted a .750 save percentage while playing full time in goal throughout the weekend.
Women’s Soccer – Offensive Player
Eastern Oregon University’s Peyton Jacaway was named the CCC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Jacaway, a junior midfielder from Elko, Nev., powered the Mounties to a pair of 2-1 wins over Oregon Tech and (RV) Southern Oregon. She totaled three goals and six points on the weekend, posting an impressive .833 shot-on-goal percentage.
Volleyball – Attacker
No. 8-ranked Corban University’s Emma Bischoff was named the CCC Attacker of the Week for the second time this season.
Bischoff, a junior outside hitter from Medford, Ore., led the Warriors to a pair of 3-1 wins over ranked opponents, No. 1 Eastern Oregon and No. 18 College of Idaho. She totaled 28 kills (3.50 k/s) on just 11 errors for a .224 attack percentage, while also contributing seven digs, five blocks, five aces, and four assists in a well-rounded performance.
Volleyball – Defender
No. 8-ranked Corban University’s Kaile'a Ontai was named the CCC Defender of the Week.
Ontai, a junior libero from Pearl City, Hawaii, anchored the Warriors’ defense in a pair of 3-1 victories over ranked opponents, No. 1 Eastern Oregon and No. 18 College of Idaho. She recorded 47 digs (5.88 d/s) while adding 10 assists and two aces.
Volleyball – Setter
(RV) Walla Walla University’s Yaimaris Garcia was named the CCC Setter of the Week.
Garcia, a freshmen setter from Camaguey, Cuba, guided the Wolves to wins over The Evergreen State College (3-0) and No. 18-ranked Northwest University (3-1). She totaled 73 assists (10.43 a/s), 20 digs (2.86 d/s), 10 aces, eight kills, and two blocks in a standout all-around effort.
