MEDFORD, Ore. – No. 4 seed Warner Pacific University captured the 2025 Cascade Collegiate Conference Men's Soccer Tournament title, presented by U.S. Bank, with a 2-1 overtime victory over No. 2 seed Carroll College on Wednesday afternoon at Wheeler Field.
After a scoreless first half defined by tough defensive play, both teams broke through in the second. Warner Pacific struck first in the 75th minute when Bryan Carmona blasted in a shot from 20 yards out, assisted by Wicho Gonzalez. Carroll responded seven minutes later, as Felix Billard delivered a high level goal off a cross from Alfie Snow to equalize in the 82nd minute.
With the match level at 1-1 after regulation, the Knights found the golden goal in the 99th minute. Off a corner kick from Sergio Varela, Bryan Sanguino rose above the crowd to head home the championship winner at the back post, sealing Warner Pacific's third ever conference tournament title.
The tightly contested final saw both teams register eight shots apiece, while Carroll held a 4-2 edge in corner kicks. Owen Purvis earned the win in goal for the Knights with one save. Carroll ended its conference run at 13-3-3 overall.
The victory earned Warner Pacific (14-4-2) the CCC's second automatic berth to the NAIA National Championship Tournament, with the full national field set to be announced during the NAIA Selection Show on Friday, November 14.
