Seven Warriors in Double-Figures as RV Corban Women’s Basketball Hammers NCAA Pacific Lutheran

TACOMA, Wash. – The undefeated streak to start the 2025-26 regular season continued in full force tonight for the RV Corban University Women's Basketball team, as the Warriors unleashed an offensive barrage on NCAA DIII Pacific Lutheran University to hand the Lutes their fourth loss of the year in a lopsided 107-58 result in western Washington. The 107 points scored represents the most by any Warrior women's basketball team since December 31st of 2016, nearly a decade since the program last dropped over 100 points on an opponent in a counting contest.

"I loved the balance of scoring we hard tonight," commented Corban head coach Kylie Frizell. "It's awesome to see everyone play team basketball that all value ball movement, which led to 24 assists on 39 made field goals."

While the Lutes (0-4) haven't kicked off the 2025-26 campaign on a necessarily strong note, having dropped all three of their first contests to date, they began their home opener tonight with an efficient 46% field goal percentage to trail the Warriors (6-0) by just two points following the first quarter of play. However, a 12-for-19 shooting percentage by the Navy and Gold in the second quarter resulted in an uneven 35-11 scoring margin, providing Corban with a sizeable lead that only grew by the conclusion of each period. The hot-handed Warriors concluded their evening in Tacoma with a 58.2% success rate from the field while holding Pacific Lutheran to just over 35% overall.

An impressive seven student-athletes scored double-digit point totals tonight for Corban women's basketball, led by a career-high effort from senior forward Mandie Jensen on 7-for-9 shooting alongside six rebounds. Redshirt sophomore guard Jersey Huerta dished out a game-high eight assists in addition to 18 points and six rebounds for the near triple-double effort, while graduate student center Emilia Bishop saw her double-double streak come to an end despite providing a substantial 14 points and eight boards. Finally, another career-high night for true freshman guard Izzy McCauley saw the Central Point native drop 16 points in 24 minutes off the bench and 3-for-4 from beyond the three-point arc.

Lutes' guard Sydney Reisner scored a team-high 18 points in 27 minutes played, while guard Lilli Williams added nine points and a team-best six rebounds. Guard Kylie Griffin scored ten points and hauled in four boards in limited reserve time.

A quick weekend to rest and recuperate will be all the Warriors have before their next scheduled contest in Portland, as PLU's fellow Northwest Conference member Lewis & Clark College (1-2) will host them on Tuesday, November 25th at 6pm inside the Pamplin Sports Center.
